What happened (my account)
On 20/09/25 I purchased a used vehicle from Anaaba Motors Ltd (AKA DANMOTORSMK LTD), a trader listed on AutoTrader under Anaaba Motors Ltd, Patches Farm, Galley Hill, Waltham Abbey, Essex, EN9 2AG, and operating the website anaabamotors.co.uk. The actual person who sold me the vehicle was Danish Pervaiz. According to Companies House, Anaaba Motors Ltd is registered under company number 16089400, with registered office at 56 Salisbury Hall Gardens, London, E4 8SA. DANMOTORSMK LTD is registered under company number 15965851 with Danish Pervaiz listed as the sole director. After purchase, I had the vehicle independently inspected on 24/09/25 and discovered what I allege to be severe, safety-critical corrosion / structural damage of the subframe (large holes, weak structure). Based on the independent inspection report, I allege the vehicle had safety-critical defects that I believe should have been disclosed at point of sale. I also allege that the MOT certificate (dated July 2025) did not mention these issues, meaning I believe the defects weren't disclosed in that test.
Important note on language & evidence
This is my personal experience and contains my allegations. Where I make claims about defects, the MOT, or the seller, I use phrasing like "I allege", "I believe", or "my experience" to reflect that these are my assertions based on available evidence — not proven legal findings. All technical claims are based on an independent garage inspection report dated 24/09/25. Anyone reading should rely on independent evidence and official processes.
Evidence (photos)
Below is photographic evidence of the alleged structural damage and defects discovered during the independent inspection. These images support my allegations about the vehicle's condition at time of purchase.
What I did next
- Commissioned an independent garage inspection on 24/09/25 and obtained a written report & timestamped photos.
- Contacted the seller Danish Pervaiz (Anaaba Motors Ltd / DANMOTORSMK LTD) on 26/09/25 requesting either: (a) covering the repair costs for the subframe, or (b) taking the vehicle back while covering repairs already completed (full service with timing belt replacement).
- Danish Pervaiz replied the same day (26/09/25) refusing both options and providing a counter-offer. Direct quote: "I am prepared to offer one option: You may return the vehicle, and I will buy it back from you under the same trade sale agreement terms we initially agreed on and as per our recorded conversation." I allege this offer would result in financial loss to me and would require driving the allegedly unsafe vehicle back to them.
- Following Danish Pervaiz's suggestion, I filed a complaint with VOSA regarding the MOT test. He stated: "As for the MOT, if you believe the car should not have passed, I agree that VOSA is the correct body to investigate this further. If there's a fault with the test or the garage that issued it, they should be held accountable."
- Filed VT17 MOT appeal against the MOT centre Taylors MOT, Feltham Road, Ashford TW15 1DH and tester S.Mulindwa, challenging the validity of the MOT certificate that allegedly failed to identify the safety-critical defects.
- Currently awaiting VOSA inspectors to arrive and assess the issues indicated in my complaint.
Steps you should consider if you're in a similar situation
- Do **not** drive the vehicle further if the structure is questionable — get it safely towed.
- Get an independent written structural/mechanical inspection immediately (with dated photos).
- Preserve all evidence: sale receipt, adverts, MOT certificate, messages, photos/video.
- Report suspected MOT tester misbehaviour to DVSA (you may remain anonymous).
- Report the trader (Anaaba Motors Ltd) to local Trading Standards via Citizens Advice.
- Seek legal advice (many solicitors do initial evaluations) regarding claims under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
